Although san Salvador is an immense town, only part of it really is worth seeing. The main areas could be the historical centre, the commercial district situated about 3 km to the west around Bulevar de los Heroes, and the residential and commercial districts of Escalon and Zona Rosa, 2 km west. City buses and taxis are needed to get around these 3 areas.
