The historic centre of san salvador can be the most satisfactory cultural area of the town. Near the intersection of the main roads there are a big number of important buildings. Among them, the equestrian statue in Plaza Barrios, then the Palacio Nacional, and the new cathedral, left unfinished, a little to the north. the cathedral is beautifully painted, so could be a suitable destination.
